The cleaner on my level say that I am very quiet. How noisy can I get when there is no one here to talk to except teachers, vice-principals and principals? Haha… She ask me how many siblings I had as she thought I was an only child. Haha… then she proceeded to talk to me for a long time bout her whole family. I was interested to listen to her… however… she mostly talked in hokkien… which I could not understand but just continued to smile and nod at appropriate moments.

But she is a nice lady. She brought me sweet potatoes to eat. I was pretty doubtful about its level of cleanliness since old people are not exactly particular about a high level of cleanliness but I ate it all the same cos its not good to waste food and I appreciated her thoughtfulness.

People like her make my day. Its such a small thing for her to just stop by my desk and talk to me… but it’s the small things that matter in this world. I always like to listen and talk to strangers, be it on the train, while waiting for a bus or like the time I talked to this person while both of us were doing the psychometric test at MOE. However, its sad that we’ve been taught since young not to talk to strangers.
