Aim for the moon, if you miss, you will land amongst the stars
There's this 'saying' that goes something along the lines of 'aim for the moon, if you miss, you will land amongst the stars'.
I always thought it was 'aim for the stars, if you fall, you will land amongst the clouds' until my friend enlightened me yesterday when I talked to her online. Lol... and I got bored studying for my econometrics test and my mind went wondering about this 'saying'.
Min says:
but just a thought
Min says:
ya know bout the 'saying'
kit says:
lol..what happened to studying?
Min says:
aim for the moon, if you fall, you will still land among the stars.
kit says:
uh huh
Min says:
the moon is so much nearer to us
kit says:
lol
kit says:
oi oi
kit says:
study eh
Min says:
the stars are millions of light years away from us
kit says:
yessss
Min says:
so this ‘saying’ is a bit wrong as there are
no stars to fall on if we miss the moon
Min says:
ok, thats all
Min says:
i gonna go back to studying
Min says:
lol...
kit says:
lol!!
I still think that ‘aim for the stars, if you miss, you will still land on the clouds’ makes more sense.
And as my friend says, clouds are nice and fluffy to land on, so much nicer than landing on a star which is bound to be a hard landing.

You'll fall right through. Clouds aren't that solid.
And yeah its terrible saying. All it says is failure isn't so bad. Haha.
But at least clouds makes more sense then stars.
There are clouds for you to fall right through unlike the absence of stars to land on between the moon and earth.
Haha...
It's funny to say that, but it makes sense if there is no gravity in outer space because you should continue until come close to a star (or black-hole or anything). That plus you have to remember that the universe is 3 dimensional and that there are stars above and below us too. But I'm sure I just blew your joke out of proportions
-just the ramblings of a star gazer
well if your aiming for the moon, chances are your shooting at the moon, and this shot might have the power to take you all the way to the stars, or a crash landing on the moon.
