Phoenix fest

I played the violin with chamber music ensemble in hall. I think we are considered the most cannot-make-it cultural group in hall. It is neither as cool as band nor dance. Our performances more often than not, are a little out-of-tune. Something usually goes wrong during the performance. But despite all its flaws, I really enjoy making music/noise with this group of people.

The two tech runs before the performance for phoenix fest were quite terrible. The entire audience was stunned into shock at the noise yanlei and I were making rather than stunned into amazement by our virtuosic playing. Very thankfully, it turned out pretty decent (though there’s still room for improvement) on the day of performance itself. Badinerie and Hungarian dance were okay too. The Chinese instrumental group of CME played perfectly and with so many people on stage, it looked like a mini Chinese orchestra which was rather cool too.

Thanks Jinghong, Alex, Xianling and Yanlei. It was great fun jamming with you guys!

Thanks also to Andrew, Gail and Jonathan for all your constructive comments.

I love cme. =)
