I have no lessons today as its the first week of school. So I went with Kitlu to MacRitchie reservoir to run. Hmmm... in the end we did more walking then running. Haha... we felt lazy. Then, we went swimming. We even slided down the children's slide in the children's pool a few times. Wheeee! It was fun! Thank goodness there were no little kids around or they will be astonished to see two jie jies sliding down their slide. Haha... Then, we went bowling. It was better this time with the ball listening to me instead of having a mind of its own and going anywhere it felt like going.

After that, I went for orchestral practice. I don't think I will ever fully appreciate 'the firebird' written by stravinsky as a piece of music in this lifetime. But today, I was able to understand it a little more. I am glad as only by understanding it, I can progress from simply playing the piece mechanically to playing the piece with whatever emotions is required. Though to get to the stage of mechanical playing, I have to learn all the weird little notes first properly.

What a wonderful way to spend a day. How saddening that the rest of my wednesdays two weeks from now will be spent in a chemistry lab doing experiments.
