I saw someone who has a bike and still stays in hostel. I think I saw another person who has a car and also stays in hostel. I wonder why they stay in hostel if they have a bike or a car? Or why they have a bike or car if they want to stay in hostel?
There are quite a number of people who have a bike or car in NUS. I guess its practical to buy a car or bike if you have the money to save time if you are living very far from nus. But somehow... I feel that they are missing out a bit on life. They don't get to squeeze into a crowded bus at rush hour. They don't get the experience of talking and laughing with their friends while waiting for the bus. They don't get the experience of running after the bus and still missing the bus cos the bus driver refuse to wait for them.
I suppose you must think I am crazy by now. I am not very good with words but I think this is what part of the university experience is all about. This small, unimportant aspect of university life which currently irritates me when I am late for lectures will one day make me smile when I think of my university years in the future.
