Da capo

Went to my very first band concert in my life today. I like the sound of a band, better than the sound of a string ensemble. But of course, orchestra sound is always still the best. Haha...

Their conductor was a rather interesting conductor. I liked the way he explained a modern piece, for it means that he understands the audience present that night. He understood that most of us there would not know whats modern music is all about and so he tried his best to explain it in layman's terms to make the musical experience more enjoyable for all of us.

How does one plays music with a soul that takes on a life of its own. There are some people who are so technically brilliant on their instrument, every note is pitch-perfect, but I do not feel anything. Yet there are others who play quite a number of wrong notes but whose music I enjoy more. Perhaps, it’s the personal interpretation of a piece that has nothing to do with the number of wrong notes that you play.

The music played out takes on the character and form of a person playing it. I hope that I can play music that can make people feel something too no matter how technically un-brilliant I am one day.
