SSO lunchtime concert
Went to SSO lunchtime concert at esplanade concert hall. To be honest, even though I play the violin and piano, I still can’t fully understand and appreciate orchestral music unless I have worked through the piece myself. I love concerts like this though. They play music more catered to the mass audience including me.
Something pretty funny happened. It is usually very embarrassing when people clap in-between movements as they thought that the entire piece had ended. This time, no one in the audience clapped even though a piece had ended as we all thought it hadn’t ended and the conductor had to turn around and tell everyone that it had ended and everyone started clapping. Haha…
Then, I went to the esplanade library to photocopy ‘rhapsody’ by brahms cos I heard someone playing it in orchestra and thought it sounded very nice. Whee! New scores to learn and play!
