Past, present, future

They say that we study history to learn from the past, to learn from others who lived before us and their mistakes because life is too short to make all the mistakes ourselves and learn from them.

I dislike history, as the past always repeats itself in the present. I never seem to learn but need to learn so that the past doesn't invade the future.
