My relatives are here. That day... my GP teacher was talking about our parents... and whether they are traditional or modern. I realise... my parents and relatives are modern in their thinking... except in one aspect... education.

I feel quite irritated about this... and wonder about it sometimes. Why do they seem to think that everyone must go JC... and must take combinations like triple science. I rarely disagree with my parents... but when it came to the choosing of subject combi in JC... my parents did not want me to take cross combi. I felt quite hurt at that time... but was quite persistent in my choice because this is my life and why would I want to take physics and biology? Can tell that my father thinks that doing art subject like Geography was useless and still does... which is really sad. However, I am very happy that I stuck to my decision. I simpy love my combination... the 'rojak' combination.

I feel very sorry for this cousin. He is not accademically inclined... but he is good with his hands. Always go to their house and was always very amazed by the strutures he buildt with some tools... even took a photo with some of his 'creations'. Yet... they give him so much tuition in an attempt to pull up his grades. I know its for his own good.... but I can see that he really is not interested.

Perhaps... they are so concerned about education because they are all teachers. Haha... and I guess... that is something good to be traditional about... and because all parents want the best for their children. But I still wish... they will be more flexible about their thinking on education.
