Today... during dinner... my parents started to talk about retirement again... Sigh... How did we get there... Oh yeah... cos I ask them which was the nxt car they were going to buy... My family very jinx... Always buy cars at the wrong time. Now the price of a new car of our car's model is $20 000 then when we bought it 2 yrs ago. Hmm... since very far away from the topic of retirement huh... My mother was pretty funny... with a dreamy look... she she started to say the same thing she has for yrs... hmmm... when I retire... I am going to do this and that... then... she wil to count how many yrs she has left to retirement. Then this night... she sigh... Haizzz... still got 14 yrs more... My father said nonchanlantly... where got... only got 12 yrs more.. at which point my mother starts panicking... Yeah.... u only got 12 yrs more... but I got 14 yrs more... don't u go off and travel around the world... Must wait for me... Then she told my father... when u retire... u must still drive me to school ok??? Father didn't comment... but I think in his heart... he was saying... sigh... so old already... still have to wake up so early to fetch her to school. (Not that he really find it a bother)..
The main point was... I didn't have the heart to tell them that they had miscalculated.... My mother does not have 14 yrs down the road... she has 16 yrs down the road... Don't think retiring is so nice... By that time... U are truly old...
Went to Macdonalds today... I saw Ms Chew... the MEP teacher... She was with her friends...if I didn't know... i would think that they were all in university... I kept staring at her... and she me... She must be thinking... This girls looks familiar... where I have seen her... Yeah... she saw me... whenever I go into the Mep room to borrow the keys to the beethoven room. I kept staring at her... to be certain that is her... Seriously... I always am surprise when I see teachers outside school... I practically expect them to sleep in school 24hrs a day...
Read this person's blog today... Happened to chance on it... It's at xiaxue.blogspot.com. What captures me is the sincere way that she writes about life.... I like her style of writing... Something like Neil Humhprey of 'Today'. It is happening right in the heartlands of Singapore... Quite like her post about poly and JC... Makes me think WHY I chose to go to JC... Hmm... seriously... I have thought of whether I want to go poly or JC before... If I went to poly... I would to study chemical engineering... That's the only thing that appeals to me... Other subjects like mass com, media, nursing, electrical dunno what were like ugh!!!! Once thought of becoming a chemical engineer... I mean... it is a combination of the 3 of my favourite subjects... Maths, chem, geog... Ok... may not really be my favourite subjects... Then... I can go into the field of environmental engineering and help invent processes that save energy and the Earth... Seriously... I think this Earth would be perfect if Man was not around... Sometimes... I feel so hurt like a knife cutting right through my heart when I read an article about forest fires burning down much land. Don't know why... Margaret once said I felt more for plants and animals than Man... I think it is true to a certain extent. Yeah... chemical engineering seems fun... that would ne my next dream job besides becoming a teacher...Maybe one fine day... when i am really reitire... i would go and study chemical engineering. Actually... My dream job is to become a jedi that goes around the universe healing plants and animal speicies. .
